Boat & Yacht Mechanic:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team. We prefer marine-related experience, and people looking for a long-term career opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, with proficiency in using various hand and power tools and working with diesel/gas engines inboard and outboard. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs to ensure optimal vessel performance.

Qualifications:

  • Inboard and Outboard engine expertise is required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven work experience as a marine mechanic
  • Knowledge of marine engines and electrical auxiliary systems
  • Knowledge of marine hydraulic systems and related parts
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
  • Knowledge of boat steering systems

Responsibilities:

  • Skilled marine mechanic to inspect, service, and repair Gas and/or Diesel marine engines for our clients
  • Responsible for inspecting and servicing engine equipment, troubleshooting, and making minor and major repairs
  • Working Knowledge of boat steering and hydraulic systems
  • Testing the performance of marine engines and electrical systems
  • Carrying out services and minor/major repairs on outboard, inboard, and large vessel engines
  • Conducting plumbing and intake repairs
  • Troubleshooting engine and electrical problems
  • Conducting electrical AC system maintenance
  • Completing service records and repair documents

Paint & Body Specialist:

 

We are looking for experienced paint/coatings/fiberglass technicians. We prefer marine-related experience, and people looking for a long-term career opportunity.

Qualifications:

  • Self-starter, team player with good safety awareness
  • Requires standing, bending, and twisting for an 8-hour shift
  • Candidate should have prior knowledge of the trade.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, mask, and spray the surfaces of fiberglass and aluminum boats
  • Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated
  • Knowledge base mixing and applying Awlgrip, Awlcraft, and Alexseal products
  • Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose
  • Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate the width and pressure of the spray
  • Directs spray surface to apply the prime or finish coat
  • Cleans spraying equipment with solvent
  • Responsible for following the quality systems procedures
  • Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces to 50 lbs
  • Exposed to noise, dust, fumes and odors daily
  • PPE provided and required: Vision protection, safety gloves, respirator, and Tyvek suit

Job Description:

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual labor skills
  • Experience with fiberglass, steel, aluminum, wood, and many other materials
  • Efficient in all repairs to finish in a timely manner
  • In-depth knowledge of auto/marine body painting techniques and supplies. i.e., Awlgrip, gelcoat, varnish, etc.
  • Proven loyalty to a company and stability in position.

General Labor/Yard Hand:

 

Seeking a General Labor/Yard Hand to assist the service department at a busy marina.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety Spotter to assist with Large and Small Vessel Haul-Outs and Launches
  • Lift and move blocks and stands up to 50 pounds
  • Assist in blocking boats, which includes crawling under the
  • Lift, Travel Trailer, and Boat.
  • Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: bottom painting and zinc replacement
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager and assist fellow crewmembers as needed
  • Assist fellow crewmembers in the refit center, which includes, but is not limited to, working with hand-held grinder, and assisting with fiberglass fabrication.
  • Grounds maintenance, marina & washroom(s) cleanliness
  • Seasonal snow removal in front of entrance doors, fire hydrant, and Salting
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or management team.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Follow Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills, and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous marina experience preferred
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Basic boat handling skills a plus
